Middle School
Aloha pumehana kākou!
In Middle School, we help our haumāna make a seamless transition from elementary to middle school where they will find a place of belonging and lifelong friends. We seek to give our haumāna a knowledge of 21st century learning skills as well as an understanding of Hawaiian culture in and out of the classroom. This learning environment will help them become well-rounded and inspire them to reach their goals and thrive in every aspect of their lives.
Middle School Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students are prepared to:
1. Identify and observe traditional knowledge systems in relation to natural and community cycles.
2. Apply and analyze traditional practices and behaviors to cultivate community awareness and engagement.
3. Address community issues and create culturally responsive solutions.

ʻĀina-Based Learning
Inquiry or project-based learning is the preferred instructional strategy because it provides an effective, authentic way for our kumu to simultaneously address nature, place, curricular integration, relationships, relevance, rigor and habits of mind.

Community Involvement
The community and surrounding environment become living learning laboratories where haumāna and community work together to create a future that is pono.
